Fine-lined and elegant, Rose & Heather's Trenail range derives its strength from a time-honoured boat construction method, not normally associated with furniture making. Structural elements provide the design features, producing a well-balanced, classic piece of furniture.
The term trenail refers to a wedge or hard wooden pin driven into an exposed dowel to secure the timber, instead of using metal nails. They have been part of the boat builder's craft since the 16th century. A fine dark jarrah beading not only provides a rich contrast to the dark cognac-coloured kauri, but also forms the tenons which help assemble the components. Visible dowels and wedges add to the aesthetic appeal of the furniture.
Trenail represents an unusual marriage of eclectic styling where furniture with a traditional ethic is given a contemporary edge.
This range continues to be refined. New pieces are added to the bedroom, dining and living collections to give a cohesive feeling to the home.
